1. Boost Immunity – The anti-viral properties of elderberry help fight cold and flu germs by providing strong immune support.

2. Increase Skin Health – Vitamin A helps reduce skin spots and wrinkles, plus flavonoids help reduce acne.

3. Lower Risk of Heart Disease – Elderberries contain a type of antioxidant called flavonoids. By taking these regularly, the flavonoids can lessen your risk for developing heart disease.

4. Improve Nutrition – In addition to providing antioxidants, elderberry is an excellent source of essential vitamins, such as vitamins A and C, iron, calcium and vitamin B6.

5. Provide a Rich Source of Anthocyanins – Elderberry is full of bioflavonoids called anthocyanins, which are the nutrients that give elderberry its dark purple/black color. Anthocyanins may help with a variety of health issues such as relieving stress, combatting cancer, fighting inflammation and balancing blood sugar levels.

6. Reduce Allergies – Elderberry is anti-inflammatory and anti-catarrhal, which helps fight allergies.

Elder Farms

The story of Elder Farms begins a little more than 100 years ago in 1899 with the start of the Buehler family farm in Mount Vernon, Missouri off the Spring River in the heart of the Ozarks. The Buehler family has always farmed what their community has needed over the years. They began with a small dairy production and grew traditional row crops such as corn, wheat, hay and soybeans.

After four generations of Buehlers, David and Ann Buehler made the decision to end mono-cropping grains and beans. After seeing family members suffer from various health issues, they knew they had reached a point where the same old farming practices just wouldn’t cut it anymore. They always had a love for the elderberry plant from tales of elders using it medicinally. After careful consideration and research, David and Ann decided to start the next chapter of this Missouri Century Farm's story to honor the ancient wisdom of plant medicines and craft these ancient ingredients for modern times.

At Elder Farms, they strive to produce plant-based wellness products of the highest quality to empower health and growth. With a deeply held belief that everything on Earth has a purpose, and that we are all connected, their commitment to environmental sustainability ensures their farming and business practices keep people and the environment as their primary focus.
